The record-breaking car was produced for a Polish customer. He wanted a white vehicle containing a six-cylinder three-litre turbodiesel engine with a performance of 210 kW, eight-speed automatic gearbox, electrically folding towing hitch, multifunctional heated leather steering wheel and air dampers. The vehicle has the R-Line trim with black packet, typical for the third generation of this model, the TASR newswire reported.

The company wants to increase the competitiveness of the plant and secure its positive starting position when redistributing products within the whole Volkswagen concern, he added.

The Bratislava-based plant manufactures the only middle-sized Volkswagen SUV in the world. The launch of SUV production in Bratislava in June 2002 was the biggest investment project in the plant’s history, securing thousands of new jobs, TASR wrote.

Apart from Touareg, the plant in Bratislava also produces Audi Q7, Audi Q8, Porsche Cayenne, Porsche Cayenne Coupé, Volkswagen up!, Volkswagen e-up!, SEAT Mii, and Škoda Citigo.
