Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra

The Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra is one of the Cleveland area’s premier musical destinations for aspiring student musicians — and one of the most acclaimed youth orchestras in the United States. Since its inaugural concert in 1987, the Youth Orchestra has performed more than 130 concerts and provided a musical home to 1,500 talented young instrumentalists.
Founded for the Cleveland Orchestra by Jahja Ling, the then ensemble’s resident conductor, the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra provides serious young music students of middle school and high school age with pre-professional orchestral training experience in a full symphony orchestra.

Italian market “Mercato italiano”
Hviezdoslavovo námestie, Bratislava, Monday, June 17-26
As part of the DOLCE VITAJ festival, this year the typical Italian market “Mercato italiano” will again visit the historical center of Bratislava. From 17 to 26 of June, it will offer visitors a full week of typical Italian flavours and fragrances. Excellent typical Italian food and products will dominate 300 square meters in Hviezdoslavovo and Rybne Square. Market visitors will be able to buy and taste culinary specialities from all regions of Italy (honey, sausages, vegetables, cheese, oil, wine, herbs, but also pasta tasting) made by local producers and retailers. The kiosks will be open from 10:00 to 22:00 every day.
One Day Jazz Festival 2019

TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS IN DANUBIANA:
EL LISSITZKY & ER SIKORA - The main intent of the double-exhibition metaphorically entitled El Lissitzky & eR Sikora is to retrieve and update the thoughts, ethos and artistic legacy of the Russian revolutionary avant-garde. The Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven, Netherlands, owner of an unprecedented collection of works of El Lissitzky, and the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum in Bratislava-Čunovo have collaborated on an ambitious and unique project which combines – over time and space – two figures, two oeuvres, two visual and ideological worlds: the world famous master of the 20th century avant-garde, Constructivism and Suprematism, Lazar/El Lissitzky (1890 – 1941) and conceptualist Rudolf Sikora (1946), one of the major representatives of Slovak and Central European avant-garde. Adela Režná: Illustrations - Adela Režná is a recent graduate of the Studio of Illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design under prof. Dušan Kállay. She focuses on illustrations for children and has created the following books: Marínka Somarinka (Marina, the Silly Little Girl, 2014), Things Not Seen by the Naked Eye (2016), Denník Majky z Majáka (Maya’s Lighthouse Diary, 2017), Stratený zajko v Paríži (Lost Bunny in Paris, 2017) and Na výlete (On a Trip, 2018). Cukrové topánky (Sugar Shoes), her artistic debut, was published in 2018. We can also find her work in other interesting projects such as Inakosti slovenské (bedeker pre cudzincov; Slovak Otherness, A Baedeker for Foreigners), Bratislava v sto slovách (Bratislava in a Hundred Words), An Athlete’s Training Diary (magazine on sports), and Omaľovánka 2.0. Jozef Gľaba: Illustrations – Jozef Gľaba works with digital illustration and freestyle printmaking. His focal techniques in freestyle printmaking are screen printing, rotogravure printing and linocut. He also creates illustrations for children and adults, as well as for products. You can see his work in the network of Kraj grocery stores, Slniečko magazine for children and the illustrated edition of the Denník N newspaper, which was published in cooperation with illustrators from AFAD in 2019. Amazing Art History with Professor Hamster - Amazing Art History with Professor Hamster is an interactive projection dedicated to the story of art history, prepared in cooperation with Prague colleagues (concept by Ondřej Horák, execution by Ondřej Fuczik, David Kakalík and INITI) and loosely based on their previous activities in the Czech Republic. The projection is designed for children interested in art history, as well as for lay and informed visitors who want to learn more. Telling the story of art, connected with a series of animated films devoted to the life and context of the work of a prominent Slovak, as well as world visual artists of the 20th century and the present, combines learning and entertainment. The Kornel and Naďa Földvári Library - The Kornel and Naďa Földvári Library is a project dedicated to Slovak writer, satirist, art and literary critic, book collector and translator, Kornel Földvári.
