Fico has lived in the flat for some time now. However, he paid a rent to his party colleague Dušan Muňko. Fico moved to the Sokolská Residence complex as early as 2021, according to the weekly Plus 7 Dní. The flat cost €600,000 at the time. Fico hasn’t said how much he paid for the flat.

For many years, Fico had lived in an expensive rented flat in the Bonaparte complex in Bratislava. The complex was then owned by the now convicted tax fraudster Ladislav Bašternák. Later Fico lived in the Hilton hotel, which is owned by Smer oligarchs Juraj Široký and Jozef Brhel, and in a mansion in the town of Vinosady.
