Andy Warhol Museum in Medzilaborce gets new collections

THE ANDY Warhol Modern Art Museum in Medzilaborce (eastern Slovakia) extended its collections by several new pieces. They are comprised of 17 works by 12 artists, including Warhol.

THE ANDY Warhol Modern Art Museum in Medzilaborce (eastern Slovakia) extended its collections by several new pieces. They are comprised of 17 works by 12 artists, including Warhol.

This includes a portrait of US politician and Senator Edward Kennedy and a portfolio of four pictures of Hans Christian Andersen.

The other collections include pieces by Slovaks Rudolf Sikora, Rudolf Fila, Michal Murin, Daniel Brogyányi, Ladislav Berger, Martin Borodáč, Daniel Bidelnica and Peter Kalmus as well as Czech artist Jitka Kopejtková. They also include contemporary street-art works by two artists who work under pseudonyms: Bambi, who is from London, and Poppy, said Carmen Cilipová from the museum, as reported by TASR.

The Prešov Self-Governing Region, the Ministry of Culture and several sponsors contributed to purchase the collections, TASR reported.
