James Warhola came to Slovakia with his book about his famous uncle.

JAMES Warhola, nephew of pop art king Andy Warhol, arrived in Bratislava on June 20 to promote his children's book, Uncle Andy's: A Faabbbulous Visit with Andy Warhol, which was published in the US in 2003, and has now been translated into Slovak under the title Na návšteve u slávneho strýka.
The book pays tribute to some of his uncle's eccentricities, such as his trademark wigs and his 25 cats, all named Sam. Warhola also tells stories about his uncle's genius, including how he turned iron trash into art and created his famous Campbell's Soup cans portraits. It also explains the term pop art.
Parts of the book also describe the author's fond memories of visiting his uncle's New York home, which was always crammed with things, making it a perfect playground. Warhola wrote and illustrated the book.
Seeing the book translated into Slovak, Warhola told the TASR news wire, is the fulfillment of a dream, since all four of the family's grandparents came from eastern Slovakia, including Andy's mother Júlia, who had the strongest influence on her son's thinking and view on life.
The book was issued by Ikar in cooperation with the US Embassy in Bratislava.
