Archaeologists will come to the iconic cinema in Nitra

They will dig a big pit in the main hall for a basement, and hope to find treasures.

The greenery that has been growing on the facade of the Palace cinema in Nitra for decades will be removed during a renovation.

"We are negotiating with the contractor and the designer on how to finish the new facades, which cannot support this type of greenery," said Róbert Petrík, project manager from the Nitra Creative Center, which will use the building.

According to him, an alternative could be a hanging system with climbing greenery, which will not touch the facade.
