Café Roland- An art-nouveau style café located centrally on the Main Square. Excellent coffee and a full bar as well as desserts and light fare served by a pleasant and efficient staff. Café Tatra- The chairs look plush; but they aren't. The place tries to look fancy and a touch modern with black sprayed everywhere, but it isn't. Yet it's the joint for the chic and the elite. London Café- Located at the British Council, this is a favorite spot for English-speakers to grab a leisurely sip or bite. The quiche is great for lunch, as is the tunafish sandwich. Sibyla- Good coffee is often hard to find late at night, so here is a tip. At the top of Nám. SNP, walk down a flight to this café. Slamienka- Welcome to the best-smelling place in town. This afternoon and evening gathering spot for the avant garde and intellectuals specializes in Oriental and herbal teas. Tea room, complete with new age philosophy books. Some cold plates, desserts and vegetarian dishes offered. The "India Summer" and Marco Polo Fruit tea are well worth their 30 Sk price tag. $$.
