THE SLOVAK capital kicks off the start of high tourist season with its annual Bratislava For Everyone event, which will take place this year on April 24-30. Venues across the city will symbolically open their doors to the public - some of which are normally closed - with many offering free entry, guided tours and lectures.
Starting on April 24 with a public reading, a theatre event for children, a choir music festival and a traditional folklore ball in the Old Market Hall, Bratislava For Everyone will offer an array events and programmes for those interested in Bratislava’s history, art, culture, tourism, animals, design, cuisine and more. The event also brings the Bratislava Brand Festival, which presents cuisine, designs, and crafts typical of the city. The BBF takes place on April 25 in the afternoon and continues through April 26 and 27.
In addition to special events at the city’s numerous museums, galleries and the Bratislava Zoo, there will be a range of other activities, including rides on boats and in historical cars, workshops by foresters and environmentalists, a horse race for the mayor’s cup and various sporting events and competitions.
