THE BUSINESS Leaders Charity Gala Ball which will debut this year aspires to become a tradition in Slovakia and be a bright light within the country’s regular ball season.
The ball will be held on February 26 in Bratislava’s River Park Kempinski Hotel under the auspices of Economy Minister Juraj Miškov and is expected to draw leaders of domestic and international businesses in Slovakia.
The organisers promise that the ball will have an atmosphere of the Roaring Twenties, the Golden Age of Hollywood and the era of Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, jazz and swing clubs, and music of those eras will be provided by Ondrej Havelka and His Melody Makers ensemble.
The organisers expect to attract a large number of businesspeople.
“We would also wish to welcome as many foreign businessmen and investors operating in Slovakia as possible,” stated Katarína Strýčková, the president of the event’s organising committee. “We want to help them to interact with their Slovak partners in a relaxed and joyful manner.”
A special silent auction of works by Shooty, the well-known cartoonist of the Sme daily, will be held to support the work of Linka detskej istoty – a professional 24/7 telephone helpline for children that is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year.
