Goethe Institute exhibitions
"Dance Theatre Today - 30 Years of German Dancing" is an exhibition of more than 60 photographs that capture scenes of the most important German dance groups and artists from the past 30 years. The Goethe Institute is opening the exhibition at Aréna Theatre on Viedenská cesta 10 at 17:00 on Thursday, May 3. Tel: 6225 0013. The exhibition runs till May 27.
Another exhibition to be opened this week is entitled "European in Bratislava", featuring sculptures and pictures of German artist Georg von Kovats. The exhibition opens at 16:00 on Friday, May 4, at the Národné osvetové centrum (National Educational Center) on Námestie SNP 12 and runs till May 27. Tel: 5921 4111.

Austrian Culture Centre violin concert and exhibitions
Slovak violinist Maroš Didi will hold a concert at 18:00 on Monday, April 30 at Mozartova sieň (Mozart Hall) in the Austrian Embassy on Ventúrska 10. Tel: 5441 8507.
"Fellner and Helmer, Illusionist Architects" is an exhibition of the works of Austrian architects Ferdinand Fellner and Herman Helmer, who have designed theatres around the world. Held at the Slovenské národné divadlo (Slovak National Theatre) Hviezdoslavovo námestie 1, which the architects designed and built between 1885 and 1886, the exhibition displays their works during theatre performances, and runs till the end of April. "Culture in Auland", an archaeological exhibition of the 2000-year history of the region near Vienna, runs at the Austrian Culture Centre on Zelená 7 till the end of April. Tel: 5441 4860.
French Institute exhibition
The exhibition "Art Nouveau Posters in Paris" features posters designed by nouveau artists like Alfonz Mucha from the beginning of the 20th century. The exhibition runs at Pálffy's Palace on Panská 19 till June 10. Tel: 5934 7777.
Austrian Culture Centre exhibition in Prešov
The exhibition "Fatigue of Forgotten Nations", featuring pictures of Jewish cemeteries in the former Habsburg lands, has moved to the eastern Slovak city of Prešov. The exhibition runs at Šarišská galéria (Šariš gallery) on Hlavná 51 till May 23.
Bratislava Town Gallery
Jan and Meda Mládek's collection of František Kupka and Otto Gutfreund's paintings first displayed in Washington, comes to Bratislava. A graphic painter and illustrator (1871 - 1957), Kupka is one of the founders of abstract art while sculptor Gutfreund (1889 - 1927) started to apply analytic cubism principles in his sculptures before World War I. The exhibition runs daily except Mon 10:00-18:00 till June 10, at Pálffy Palace on Panská 19. Tel: 5443 3627.
Spanish exhibition at Danubiana
The Spanish Embassy's "End of a Long Journey" is an exhibition of the works of Spanish painter Miguel Ybanez. The exhibition runs at Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum in Čuňovo and lasts till June 22. For more information, check www.danubiana.sk or call 0903 605 505.
