Austrian Embassy film and exhibitions

An exhibition of water-colours by avant-garde painter Gerald Brettschuh runs until November 6 at Dom umenia (Culture Centre) on nábrežie Ivana Krasku in the western Slovak spa town Piešťany.

Und Ich Sah... (And I Saw...) is a photographic exhibition of medieval basilicas in Austria's Seckau region. Runs at the Austrian Embassy, Ventúrska 10, until November 2. Tel: 02/5443-2985.

French Institute exhibitions

The exhibition Life is a Theatre opens at 16:00 Friday, November 2 at the French Institute Gallery, Sedlárska 7. A French photographer, Gilbert Garcin pokes fun at himself and his audience in his work. Runs until November 30.

Paris Through the Eyes of Daniel Bidelnica, a photography exhibition by the Slovak painter/photographer, depicts with a painter's eye the places Bidelnica has visited. Runs at the French Institute Gallery, Sedlárska 7, until November 31.

Dance show in Piešťany

Collection for victims of terrorist attacks in the US

The Slovak Red Cross and the American Chamber of Commerce have begun a collection for families of the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks in the US.
