International Summer School of Art and Performance

Children who would like to do more this summer than sit around and be bored by the television might want to take a look at the International Summer School of Art and Performance in Kremnica, an old mining town in Central Slovakia.
The summer program is being organized for the third year by Leisure Centre Revivals, a civic organisation in Kremnica. Children and youth from 6 to 17 years old can apply for any or all of the three-week long sessions, which start on July 24 and finish on August 14. A week's camp costs 4,100 Sk including accommodation, food, trips and health care.
The summer camp features workshops in marionette, mime, musical play acting and theatre production. Other activities include painting, sculpting, literature courses, music lessons, film production basics and horse riding and fencing courses. Each of the three sessions will end with a Gala Evening performance. The organizers say that all courses are also in English. For further information contact Zuzana Michalicová, Revivals, Štefánikova 7, 811 03 Bratislava. Tel.: 366 942.
