Bratislava EXHIBITION: THE PICTURESQUE region of Punjab in the north of India can be admired in paintings, drawings and photographs by Max Kandhola, a renowned British artist with Sikh roots, who has brought his new exhibition Flatland: A Landscape of Punjab to Bratislava. Visitors are invited to follow his “tracing family history through an odyssey of ancestral narratives which explore Diaspora and identity,” as stated in the book with the same title published in 2007. The exhibition, organised on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the India Club in Slovakia, is available at the Central European House of Photography (Prepoštská 4) Tuesday through Sunday from 13:00 to 18:00 until June 6. CONCERT:FOREVER Young, probably the most popular hit by Alphaville, together with other singles, will ring out from venues in Nitra and Hnúšťa, as the famous German foursome arrive in Slovakia as part of their European tour. The synthpop band, founded in 1982, has promised to offer the audience a mixture of their well-known melodies and songs from their latest album, Catching Rays on Giant. Alphaville will perform at Nitra’s City Amphitheatre at Dolbozoborská 18 on May 27 and at Hnúšťa’s City Amphitheatre at Francisciho 2 on May 30. Both concerts start at 20:00 and tickets cost €10.
