Bratislava EXHIBITION:TO SYMBOLICALLY celebrate one hundred years since the Futurist Manifesto was first published in Italy, the Italian Cultural Institute and the Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava have prepared a comprehensive display of works by famous Italian artists such as Umberto Boccioni, Giacomo Balla, Luigi Russolo, Gino Severini, Mario Sironi and Fortunato Depero. Their fantastic visions glorifying speed, violence and technological progress, collected under the title Carte futuriste and presented within the second edition of the Dolce Vitaj festival, are available for €3.32, daily except Mondays from 10:00 to 17:30, until July 26. FESTIVAL:EVERY YEAR during the second week of July, the eastern town of Kežmarok turns into a huge fair with 180 woodcarvers, skinners, blacksmiths, potters, glassblowers and various other craftsmen making traditional products right in front of visitors’ eyes. This year the European Folk Craft festival, available for €4 for adults and €1 for children, will be held between July 10 and 12. Apart from the picturesque and lively fair, visitors can look forward to a rich programme of classical music concerts, parades, folklore dance performances by ensembles from all around Europe, and much more.
