Bratislava EXHIBITION:DURING Slovakia’s sixth Night of Museums and Galleries on May 15 visitors can enter every museum or gallery throughout the country for a single admission fee of only €1.50 – and in Bratislava alone 30 cultural sites will be participating. These include the City Gallery and its branches, the larger buildings of the Slovak National Museum such as its Natural History Museum, Historical Museum and Archaeological Museum, as well as the many smaller museums and specialised museums of foreign cultures and religion plus smaller galleries. DOG SHOWS: Spring Duodanube CACIB – These two international dog shows present top examples of various breeds. On May 15 the Cruft’s Qualification takes place while on May 16 the Central-East European Dog Show opens, offering free participation for national breeds of this region. EXHIBITION: MIROIR NOIR/Čierne Zrkadlo/Black Mirror is the name of an exhibition in the Peter Michal Bohúň Gallery in Liptovský Mikuláš co-organised by the Koloman Sokol Civic Association. It features the work of two individuals – Slovak illustrator, graphic artist and painter Miloš Kopták and Spanish painter Rai Escalé – and presents billboards and posters completed jointly in Barcelona and Bratislava. JAZZ FESTIVAL: United Europe Jazz Festival – The 15th International Dixieland Festival begins May 15 on SNP Square – or in the Estrada Hall of the Culture Centre in event of bad weather – and continues with a Dixieland Street Parade, along with various stages featuring school orchestras and a jam session at the Ivan Palúch Theatre. The festival climaxes on May 16 at a gala concert in the Culture Centre.
