Bratislava HORSE RACES: THE TRADITIONAL Sunday horse races in the Petržalka district of Bratislava offer two major competitions on August 29: the Prize of the Turf, a flat race for 1st category horses over 3 years old covering 2,400 metres, and the 20th European Championship for female amateur jockeys, which begin at 14:00 at the Petržalka-Ovsište, Starohájska 29. EXHIBITION: AMNÉSIS, an exhibition by Ladislav Pálmai in the Central Slovak Gallery in Banská Bystrica (Vila Dominika Skuteckého, Horná 55), is an installation of artworks by this young author which contemplate symbols from Jewish and Christian mysticism while based on Plato’s idealism. The works approach transcendentalism, spiritual levels of life, and the imaginary breaking down of walls dividing individual worlds and evil from good. Ticket price: €0.50 to €1.50.
