CONCERT: THE PRESSBURGER Klezmer Band, a well-established Slovak band that plays klezmer – the traditional Jewish music of central and eastern Europe – has invited guest Oskar Lehotský (on cimbalom) to give a concert called S cimbalom (Mit Tsimbl). It goes to the very roots of klezmer. The event takes place on April 28 at 20:00, in the Zrkadlový háj house of culture, Rovniankova 3 in Bratislava. BICYCLE RIDE: Critical Mass – The monthly (last Friday) bicycle ride through the streets of 300 cities and towns has reached Bratislava. Aimed at improving conditions for cyclists, it is also an opportunity for participants to improve their fitness.

CONCERT/GALLERY: Musica Minore - Koncert pri svetle pochodní / Concert by Torchlight – The Musica Minore chamber ensemble led by M. Petrík (viola), with J. Šindelářová (flute), I. EXHIBITION: THE EXHIBITION Divákom prístupné (Akvizície za posledných päť rokov) / Accessible to the Public (Acquisitions During the Last Five Years) at the Nitrianska galéria, Župné Square 3 in Nitra, displays all the artworks acquired by the gallery in this period. The exhibition, which is showing until May 6, is curated by Barbora Geržová and features 28 authors representing the Slovak art scene from 1960 to the present. MUSIC/DANCE/ACTING: Carmen – This combination of music by Georges Bizet and Rodion Shchedrin with innovative dance, singing and acting, gives the story of passion, love, jealousy and hate a new form. Adapted and choreographed by Dana Dinková, the cast includes, as well as local performers, the flamenco musicians S. Kohútek, Z. Fujacová, M. Kohútek and C. Kubiš.
