CONCERT: KEBY všetky bandy sveta / If All the Bands in the World – This concert, part of a series of world and ethno music concerts in which the Bratislava-based group Banda invites guests to join in, presents Slovak Balkansambel, a “multiplex music formation that has decided to throw down the gauntlet of all the unequal rhythms and manners of Balkan folk music”. LIVE MUSIC: Theophilus London – The American “alternative rapper” makes something that could be called urban music, merging rap, hip-hop, soul, electronic music, post-punk and more. CLASSICAL MUSIC: Hudba a obrazy HO – This concert from a joint cycle by the Slovak Philharmonic and the Slovak National Gallery brings a lecture on Partitúry / Scores of Monogramist T.D. by curator Alexandra Tamásová, in Slovak followed by a concert by the Moyzes Quartet (S. Mucha, F. Török, A. Lakatoš, J. Slávik, V. Prokešová and P. Mucha), performing works by Dvořák and Brahms.

CONCERT:AFTER a successful start in Trnava last year, the Noc kostolov / Night of Churches event will open the doors of churches to people who do not visit them regularly, offering guided tours, discussions, lectures, concerts and more. This year’s event takes place in 12 churches in Trnava, 33 across Trnava Region, plus about 120 others throughout Slovakia. CHILDREN’S DAY: International Children’s Day – The programme on this special day includes a disco by DJ Bobot, the Isis Bellydance chil- dren’s Oriental dance group, African dances and drums, hard-rock band Broken Rain, displays by the Slovak Red Cross and Banská Bystrica Mountain Rescue Service, the Pretórium train, theatre pieces for children, and more.
