EXHIBITION:WORKS by famous Slovak graphic artist and illustrator Dušan Po– lakovič are on show in the Typo&Ars Gallery at Roľnícka 349, in the Vajnory district of Bratislava, until November 20. “Dušan Pola– kovič – Selection from Graphic Creation” shows his graphic works; his engravings are also available for purchase. OPERA: I Puritani / Puritáni / The Puritans – Vincenzo Bellini’s three-act opera is focused more on the individual fates of its heroes than on the historical events in Sir Walter Scott’s original book. Bellini’s music is based on the cult of melody as an ideal interpreter of emotions. The cast includes Ľubica Vargicová, Oto Klein and Aleš Jenis.

CLASSICAL MUSIC: The Musical Academy of the Nová Scéna Theatre (MADNS) will perform works spanning Renaissance polyphony to the spiritual music of the 20th century. CONCERT:AS PART of the Prešovská hudobná jeseň / Prešov Musical Autumn 2012, the Stamicovo kvarteto / Stamic Quartet from the Czech Republic (first violin Jindřich Pazdera, second violin Josef Kekula, Jan Pěruška on viola, and Petr Hejný on cello) will perform works by Antonín Stamic, Smetana and Dvořák at 19:00 on October 29 in the concert hall of the Čierny Orol cultural centre, Hlavná 50 in Prešov.
