CONCERT: THE PRESSBURGER Klezmer Band which plays klezmer, a Jewish style of music typical of central/eastern Europe, will launch their new album Tants mit mir (Yiddish for Dance with Me) as part of the Klezminorities event on November 30, at 19:30. Apart from the band, all the guest performers on the album – Merlin Shepherd (UK), Marcel Komendant (Moldova), Miroslav Vukovic (Bosnia), and Anita Ribar and Dalibor Martinov (Serbia) – will take part in the concert accompanying its launch. Tickets for the event, which will take place at the DPOH City Theatre, at Laurinská 19 in Bratislava, cost €8 in advance and €10 on the door. MODERN DANCE: Príliš blízko na návrat / Too Close to Return – A postmodern ballet about soul-searching. The piece is based on the music and the libretto of Karl von Kleist, a Dutch composer living in Ireland who spent seven years creating it; the result is a ballet in ten images. The choreographer, Katarína Mojžišová, has adapted the original libretto and choreography into a postmodern ballet with audio-visual media.

EXHIBITION:ALONG THE Gothic Route / Po gotickej ceste is a travelling exhibition within the Terra Incognita project which, as part of the Košice European Capital of Culture 2013 event, is mapping three basic routes within the Košice Region: the Iron Route, the Gothic Route and the Wine Route. This exhibition offers visitors the beauties of the ancient Gothic Route as depicted in old daguerreotypes, the first type of commercial photographs. Until December 31, the exhibition can be viewed at the Spiš Museum in Spišská Nová Ves on weekdays between 8:00 and 16:30 and on Saturdays between 9:00 and 13:00.
