EXHIBITION: TWO ARTISTS are exhibiting their works in the Danubiana gallery, in Čunovo near Bratislava. Austrian Karl Prantl’s exhibition Rodina a priatelia / Family and Friends shows his love for nature and his conviction that artworks should placed where they came to exist – in nature. It includes the first showing of his new piece “Stations of the Cross”. German artist of Kurdish origin Bahram Hajou focuses in his drawings (exhibited under the title Dialóg / Dialogue) on the intimate relationship between men and women in an expressive, post-modernist way. MODERN CLASSICAL MUSIC: Bvdub + Bruno Sanfilippo - US musician Brock Van Wey, aka Bvdub, and Argentina composer and pianist Bruno Sanfilippo have in common a minimalist perception of modern classical music, and are inspired by icons of this genre like Arvo Pärt or Philip Glass. Bvdub combines classical music with electronic one; while Sanfilippo's works are dominated by piano with pre-recorded ambiente sounds.

EXHIBITION: Kufor kresieb / Suitcase of Drawings – A collection of 300 previously unknown drawings by famous artist of Slovak/Hungarian origin Ladislav Mednyánszky, most of which were found in a large suitcase. The exhibition shows a selection of them, lent from the P. M. Bohúň Gallery in Liptovský Mikuláš.

EXHIBITION: FILM. Directed by Artists / Film in Contemporary Art – This exhibition is based on a project mapping the works of Slovak and international (i.e. Czech and Ukrainian) artists reflecting the specific phenomenon of film. The works presented perceive the filmed image as found footage, reacting to various movie-making procedures, or reflect it as a social event.

LIVE PERFORMANCE:BABYLUZARU (Badín-Bystrica-Lučenec-WestAfrican-Rhythmic-AgitpropGroup) promotes West African rhythms and music, supported by dance and dance workshops. The group will give live performance at the Chuť tanca / Taste of Dance show at the Divadlo štúdio tanca (Theatre-studio of Dance), Komenského 12 in Banská Bystrica, on January 31 at 18:00, and later also provide dance lessons and workshops to anyone who is interested. EXHIBITION: 100 X France, Francúzska fotografia od zrodu po súčasnosť / 100 X France, French Photography from the Beginning till Now – This exhibition, produced in cooperation with the French Institute in Bratislava and curated by Sophie Schmit, offers a selection from thousands of photographs from the French National Library, the Musée d’Orsay and the Pompidou Centre which, thanks to accompanying texts, helps explain the history of photography as well as contemporary French – and Parisian – history.

OPERA: Nabucco – This famous work by Giuseppe Verdi, sung in Italian, describes in four acts a story from the Old Testament, the conquest of Jerusalem by the Babylonians and the taking of the Jews as hostages. The Košice staging is directed by Václav Věžník and conducted by Jakub Žídek, and presents, among others, Richard Haan/Ludovic Kendi, Jaroslav Dvorský/Róbert Smiščík, Magda Málková/Tatiana Paľovčíková-Paládiová and Gabriela Hübnerová/Viera Kállayová.
