WORKSHOP: THE JAPANESE Evening in the Cultus House of Culture at Ružinovská 28 in Bratislava includes a workshop of shogi and go, Japanese table games, a demonstration of Japanese cooking (by chef of the Japanese Embassy Naoki Eguchi), a presentation about Japan (by students of East-Asian studies, Zuzana Michalová and Boris Kollář) and a concert of Japanese music by Takao Seres and Veronika Prokešová. FESTIVAL: FESTIVAL peknej hudby / The Festival of Nice Music in Banská Štiavnica aims to reach audiences with both older and contemporary classical music. Between July 25 and 28, the 14th year of this event will enhance the cultural summer in this old mining town, bringing musicians like founding Weather Report member Miroslav Vitouš, Ľubica Čekovská, Miukuláš Škuta, Il Fagotti, Petr Nouzovský and Eugen Prochác. They will perform works of Bach and Mozart, as well as Čekovská, Vitouš and other composers. Concerts take place at various hours in different venues. HISTORICAL RE-ENACTMENT: Cisárska vizitácia / Emperor’s Visit – The re-enactment of the visit of Prince Leopold Habsburg to Banská Bystrica will include a “Miners’ Day” for children (taking place near the Barbakan), the Imperial March with a ceremony in SNP Square and the Floral festival. Prince Leopold kept a record of his travels, which included a visit to this city, enabling a true-to-life re-enactment.

HIP-HOP FESTIVAL: Outbreak Hip Hop Festival – This year, the Outbreak festival offers Hip Hop Holidays, marked by a series of events: Catch the Flava summer camp, from July 21–25 ; Hasta La Muerte (the fifth anniversary of the Slovak b-boy crew) on July 24 ; Cypher Adikts Europe (a version of an American b-boy event) on July 25; Outbreak Europe 2013, from July 26–27; and Rep Your Country 2013 (a competition between countries) on July 28.

CAR RALLY: Rallye Tatry – The 40th year of the oldest car race in Slovakia, Rallye Tatry, is part of the Slovak Championship, the DMACK Rally 2013, and the Slovak Cup rally. The races take place in Poprad, Úloža, the High Tatras and Levoča.

EXHIBITION: Sacral Elementum II – Icons – Original historical icons from the depositories of the Zemplín Museum are juxtaposed with works by contemporary visual artists Katarína Balúnová, Andrea Čepiššáková, Michaela Knížová, Matúš Lányi, Martin Mlynarič, Dorota Sadovská, Monika Stacho, Viktória Šoltisová, Ján Vasilko and Eva Tkáčiková.
