DANCE/THEATRE: FROM Side of a Man, From Side of a Woman is a dance/physical theatre piece recently produced by the Divadlo Štúdio Tanca in Banská Bystrica. Choreographed by Jozef Fruček (and assisted by Reut Aviran) to the music of Vasilis Mantzoukis, the piece “exceeds the limits of dance, choreography and traditional stage forms” by touching on the issue of the risks and thrills of “solar sexuality”, the bulletin states. CLASSICAL MUSIC: The Slovak Sinfonietta celebrates the 1150th anniversary of the arrival of Ss Cyril and Methodius to the territory of current Slovakia in a concert featuring music by contemporary Slovak composer Egon Krák Cirillo-Metodiada, based on an epic poem by Ján Hollý. The se-cond piece, Chopin’s Concert No 1 E minor, will be played by Jakub Čižmarovič on piano.

The Ženské úteky (Female Escapes) pro-ject includes three public discussions with immigrants (this time with Nagris Rahmon from Tajikistan) and two theatre performances.

PHYSICAL THEATRE: Chránené územie / Protected Territory – Divadlo z Pasáže / The Theatre from the Passage offers a performance of physical theatre that metaphorically explores what protected territory means to humans. The piece, directed by Viera Duba-čová and choreographed by Jaro Viňarský and Peter Vrťo, premiered in 2000 in Iowa, during the theatre’s US tour.
