TRADITIONAL CRAFTS: Dni Majstrov ÚĽUV / Craftsmen Days ÚĽUV – The Centre for Folk Art Production, ÚĽUV, has been organising a festival of traditional crafts and craftsmen in the Slovak capital for 24 years, and the event has gradually grown into the biggest city festival of its kind in all of Slovakia, offering gastronomy, artisan demonstrations, as well as folklore music and dance, all over two days. This year, the event will focus on weaving and events for children (including workshops).

POLISH FOLKLORE: Zespól Taňca Ludowego – The 60-member strong Polish folklore troupe of the Academy of Physical Education in the city of Poznan has been performing to live folk music since 1982. Their repertoire covers 15 regions in Poland.

MUSIC FESTIVAL: Drum Cirkus – The fifth edition of an all-day percussion festival will feature Dubaabuka (African rhythms), Jamadan (African rhythms), Bakuruba (African rhythms), Dumstas (percussion quartett) and Melon Vibrations (drum quarteto) as well as Marek Bolf (kalimba solo) and Lucas Perny (drum solo) and a final joint drumming session.

EXHIBITION: Marek Jarotta – Somewhere to Somewhere – This is the first exhibition of works by Slovak artist Marek Jarotta in the SODA gallery. Jarotta’s work focuses on so-called ‘space’ and ‘non-places’ related to transport, commercialism and leisure activities which serve to accelerate the circulation of passengers and goods. Jarotta shows airport halls, waiting rooms, train and bus stations, subway corridors, i.e. interiors created for the masses which absorb individuality and identity.
