This edition, to take place between June 2 and 8 in Bratislava, is focused on Baroque music, offering works dating back to mid 17th-mid 18th centuries.
The opening concert juxtaposes two composers, Samuel Capricorn and Antonio Bertali, as interpreted by Musica aeterna and Czech Ensemble Baroque – Vocal Quintet led by Peter Zajíček.
Czech Ensemble Baroque – Orchestra & Choir conducted by Roman Válek will perform, with soloists, Handel’s great work – Judas Maccabaeus in St Martin’s Cathedral on June 6. The next day, Purcell Choir and Orfeo Orchestera, woth soloists led by György Vashegyi will perform compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach and Johann Christoph Bach.
Two recitals are included in 2015 – Slovak organist playing internationally, Monika Melcová, will play an overview of Italian, Spanish and German composers; while on June 8, Iranian/US cembalist Mahan Esfahani will play Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach.
