A SELECTION of works from 53 of Europe's most significant graphic artists is being exhibited at the Bratislava Artotéka gallery.
The exposition, compiled from private collections, points to the fact that, despite the communist regime, eastern Europe managed to continue the large European tradition of carved graphic works in the second half of the 20th century, the news agency TASR reported.
Apart from works by the strong generation of Czech and Slovak graphic artists, there are also works by artists from Italy, Great Britain, Russia, Poland, Germany, Austria, and other countries. Slovakia is represented by such artists as Dušan Kállay, Katarína Vavrová, and Peter Kľúčik.
Entitled East&West: European Traditional Graphic Work 1970-2004, it will run until July 13.
