Czech Ensemble Damian and Chorus Mauritiensis will perform the opera Endymio in Trnava on April 2, starting at 19:00. The Baroque libretto of the opera dates back to 1727 but since the original music of the opera was lost, director Tomáš Hanzlík took inspiration from the musical life of the piaristic seminaries of the 17th and the 18th centuries. The opera was first performed in the Kroměříž castle in the Czech Republic and tells the story of a handsome young man, Endymio, who prefers eternal sleep to love. The Ensemble Damian performs the piece in Synagogue - the Centre of Contemporary Art at Halenárska 2. Tickets cost Sk120. For more information, call 033/5906-110.
