THE THEME of the femme fatale has inspired artists since time immemorial. In this instance the Los Remedios ensemble and its guests have prepared a jazz-flamenco style performance inspired by George Bizet's Carmen. Dancers unveil the passionate, tragic love story in a performance bristling with energy. ABOUT 30 harmonica and squeeze box (heligónka) players from the Orava region will meet in Krivá, in north-western Slovakia, November 21 to put their talents on public display. The large group of musicians want to preserve and enrich their folk music traditions and create a regular concert event for these under-appreciated instruments.
