BRATISLAVA

FLORA Bratislava 2005, the 26th international show of flowers, plants, gardening tools and decoration techniques will take place at the Kongresové centrum Incheba (Incheba Congress Centre) at Viedenská cesta 7 between April 27 and May 1. The exhibition will display flowers, plants, decorative trees, and artistically arranged bouquets of which some will also be for sale. The congress centre will be open daily between 9:00 and 18:00 and tickets will cost Sk80 and Sk40. For more information call 02/4341-3329.

LIVE MUSIC: Lumen 2005 Gospel Festival - Slovak and overseas singers perform within the international gospel music festival.

CENTRAL SLOVAKIA

BECKOV castle will officially open the summer tourist season 2005 on April 30 at noon. The organizers of the event, the association of Knight Errants, have prepared performances of traditional fencing displays and castle tours with guides dressed in historical costumes. Visitors will also have an opportunity to try historical weapons, like the bow and arrow, and crossbow, and compete in axe-throwing contests. A display of historical firearms and medieval music will add to the atmosphere. The ruins of Beckov Castle are located southwest of Trenčín. Tickets cost Sk50 and Sk20.
