BRATISLAVA will pulse with stirring flamenco rhythms in the seventh year of the four-day International Flamenco Festival starting May 18. Musicians Petr Vít, Paco Vega and Morenito de Trina will play May 18 at the Astorka Korzo theatre. On May 19 the Slovak jazz-flamenco ensemble and dancers Ivana Konská and Ján Gonščák will perform the story of Carmen at the Istropolis. On May 20 Remedios with Verde del Mar will perform its Vendaval show. Spanish Flamenco star Mercedes Ruiz will be the highlight of the gala concert at the Dibujos en el Aire show on May 21. FORTY handicraftsmen, historical fencing group Páni Spiša, the marionette theatre of Anton Anderle and traditional meals directly from the castellan's kitchen and many other attractions wait for visitors within the eighth year of the Festival of Arts, Handicraft and Fun. During the two-day festival, starting May 20 at 8:00 and taking place in the Old Castle in Banská Štiavnica, the tradition of trumpeting the exact time from the tower of New Castle will be renewed.
