The Two Sundays festival is an eight-day event that presents original Slovak art created after the year 2000. The festival offers 15 musical events, five dance performances, 11 literature events and eight theatrical performances at various Bratislava venues: Medická záhrada, Hviezdoslavovo námestie, Zichyho Palác, Divadlo Astorka Korzo '90, A4 - nultý priestor, Slovenský rozhlas, Michalský dvor Gallery, and Aupark shopping centre. OUTSIDE THE CAPITAL
AN INTERNATIONAL Meeting of Bagpipers - the Gajdovačka - brings together participants for the sixth year in Slovakia's north-western Orava region. Between September 16 and 18 more than 80 bagpipers from six European countries will be performing at the event. Ten-year-old Ivetka Skurčáková, from Oravská Polhora, is the youngest bagpipe player taking part, while the oldest is the 74-year-old veteran Vladek Zogata, from Hrčava. Most of the festival takes place in Oravská Polhora, with the remainder in the nearby Polish villages of Miedzybrodzie and Zywiecke and Zawoja, and the Slovak town of Dolný Kubín. A competition for young bagpipers, For Zboroňa's Note, which pays tribute to the local bagpiper Jozef Zboroňa, will start at 19:00 on Saturday in Oravská Polhora.
