Popular Slovak singer Richard Müller and several leading American musicians with whom he recorded his latest album, 44, tour around Slovakia. This week will see Müller, drummer Omar Hakim, bassist Will Lee, guitarist Hiram Bullock, keyboardist Clifford Carter and guitarist and percussionist Mike Caffrey performing at three locations. In Košice the event starts at 20:00 on December 5 at the Cassosport sports hall at Alejová 11. The Prešov gig follows on December 6 at 20:00, at the sports hall at Hlavná 67. The second international festival of Christmas customs and crafts, the Visegrad Christmas, enlivens the Orava region between December 10 and 13. Fourteen folk dance and music ensembles from the four Visegrad countries (Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic) will open the event on December 10 at 17:00 in Dolný Kubín's culture centre. They will compete in singing carols and stage plays related to the Nativity. Those most successful will perform in Zázrivá the next day, starting at 15:00. Between December 12 and 13 folk handicraftsmen will offer their wares for sale as well as teach techniques to those interested at Dolný Kubín's culture centre. The venue also hosts an exhibition of Christmas postcards painted by talented children, which will run from December 12 until January 9 and then move to Poland and France. Andrej Reiser, world-renowned photographer of Slovak origin and founder of the prominent Bilderberg photo agency in Hamburg in 1983, exhibits for the first time in Slovakia. Bratislava City Gallery hosts two of his cycles: Last Days of Leningrad and Portraits. The first gives a picture of the final days before Leningrad's name was changed back to Petersburg.
