Bratislava's international exhibition Autopoesis focuses on two aspects of artistic presentation. The first is autobiographical authenticity and the second is extrovert self-portrait. The display introduces about 70 artists of the middle and younger generations working in various visual media, such as drawing, painting, photography, video, 3D objects and installations. The exhibition takes place in the Slovak National Gallery's Esterházy Palace at Námestie Ľ Štúra 4. It is open between Tuesday and Sunday from 10:00 to 17:30 until September 3. Tickets cost Sk80. More than 80 students who attended the 11th annual Summer Photoschoolorganised by the House of Photography exhibit their works in the PM Bohúň Gallery in Liptovský Mikuláš. In workshops led by prominent photographers from the US, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Russia, the Czech Republic, Great Britain and Finland the students had a chance to improve their photographic skills and learn some of the latest techniques. Individual workshops focused on documentary photography, body and portrait, landscape and architecture, staged photography, experimental photography, old techniques and new media, and advertising photography.
