A DISPLAY at the Bratislava City Gallery (GMB) in Bratislava marks the 35th anniversary of the death of Slovak artist Martin Benka (1888-1971), one of the founders of Modernist Slovak painting in the 20th century. The exceptional selection of more than 110 of Benka's works enables visitors to observe Benka's evolution through the phases of his artistic development. Most of his works capture Slovak nature, impressive natural scenery, high clouds, wide horizons, flat land and undulating crop fields at harmony with humanity. The gallery sits in the Mirbach Palace at Františkánske námestie 11. The exhibition is open daily expect Monday between 11:00 and 18:00 until November 12. Tickets cost Sk80.
