TREASURES OF COINS IN SLOVAKIA is an exhibition at the Historical Museum at Bratislava Castle that's perfect for devoted coin collectors and the general public. The display showcases an array of 31 iron, copper, bronze and gold coins, as well as the ceramic pots in which they were stored. Such coins give us insight into the social and economic life of the civilizations that produced them. Rich people tended to hide their treasure when danger lurked, and many such hordes have been unearthed. The display of golden coins from Košice, one of the most precious coin collections in Europe, makes this exhibition especially unique. The exhibition is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00 until July 11. Tickets costs Sk70 and Sk100. For more information, call 02/5441-1444 or go to www.snm-hm.sk.
