NUJAZZDAYZ, the popular festival of nu-jazz music, features headliners Ninja Tune and DJ Food, who will open the festival with a colourful kaleidoscope of abstract hip-hop, neofunk, future jazz and ambient music on October 5. Other opening acts include Boozoo Bajou, who combines Latino, blues, jazz, reggae, dance floor and soul, and Czech singer Dan Bárta with his successful group Illustratosphere. On Saturday, jazz lovers can look forward to Austrian trio Cidequa, Irish singer Nina Hynes, who's already quite well known in Slovakia, and funky-underground band 100 Múch, which is a new face on the Slovak scene. The two-day festival starts on Friday at 20:00 in Incheba Expo Arena at Viedenská cesta in Bratislava. The festival pass costs Sk550 and daily tickets go for Sk330. EXHIBITION: Egon Bondy in Bratislava - This display presents texts, films, photos, and fragments of unpublished works by Egon Bondy, a Czech philosopher and poet and one of the leading figures of the Czechoslovak underground, who has lived in Bratislava for 13 years.

FESTIVAL: International Jazz Festival - The Miloš Zelezňák Trio opens the 13th year of the jazz festival, followed by the Veronika Harcsa Quartet from Hungary and the Peter Lipa Band from Slovakia. The next two days features music by Adriena Bartošová, Neco Novellas from Mozambique, Polish group Soundcheck, the Emil Viklický Trio from the Czech Republic, with Belgian artist Stene Houben as a guest, and others.

TINA, a winner at the 2006 Slovak Grammy Awards, resumes promoting her latest album, Chillin, after health problems with her vocal chords forced her off stage for two months. She's now singing soul, gospel, and hip-hop and back on tour, which re-started in Senec on September 28. Next she goes to Nitra (Oct 3), Košice (Oct 4), and Pezinok (Oct 6). DJ Biely, a Slovak producer active in London, is her special guest at the concerts. The concert in the Stará Pekáreň music club at Rázusova 2 in Nitra starts at 19:30.
