FESTIVAL: Gothoom Open Air Fest 2016 - The seventh year of this metal festival, the only extreme music open-air festival in Slovakia including Slovak and Czech groups along with foreign guests. Nové Mesto nad Váhom

FESTIVAL: Open Jazz Fest 2016 - Summer Open air festival comes for the ninth time to the to the natural amphitheater of recreation center in the Zelená voda/ Green Water close to Nové Mesto nad Váhom. Performers will include Polish violinist Adam Baldych, Czech-Slovak jazz band Carpet Cabinet, gitarist and composer Femi Temowo, who cooperated with Amy Winehouse and many others. Accompanying event will be an exhibition of caricatures of authors V4 titled “Caricature and Jazz”; Starts: Jul 22 - 23, Recreation center at Zelená voda. FESTIVAL: Žákovic Open 2016 - This is the 16th year of the festival Žákovic Open, featuring a family atmosphere and members of groups become also viewers and will have fun together with the audience. Line Up includes Slovak and Czech bands such as Dan Bárta a Illustratosphere, Para, Korben Dallas, Chiki Liki Tu-a, Hex, Saténové Ruky, Vidiek and others. Starts: Jul 22 - 23; Žákovic Penzion. EXHIBITION: Denník barmana/ Diary of a Barman - Works by English artist James Prescott will be presented during the exhibition named Diary of a Barman, featuring his newest drawings, paintings and collages. Visitors can await various kinds of oeuvres, for example drawings of large format, black and white, full of detail or bizarre scenes and characters. The artist also reveals to the public a selection of his diary notes, which he started to write three months before the exhibition. The name of the exhibition is a play on words, which is related to two famous works of world culture. FESTIVAL: The Legits Blast - The seventh year of an international festival full of music and dance will welcome Slovak and also foreign musicians. The Legits Blast festival impacts the hip-hop scene and features performers such as Strapo, Krok Spet, Boco & Špeker. Majk Spirit, Boy Wonder and Moja Reč will be at the festival for the first time. EXHIBITION: Róbert Močiliak: Pod červenou horou/ Róbert Močiliak: Under the red mountain - The exhibition is the author’s first presentation of his own work. Róbert Močiliak has been acquainted in the drawing studio and Intermedia painting during his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava with various fine arts techniques. However, he has created his own way and now the exhbition is dedicated to visions and ideas now captured on paper by ink painting. CONCERT: Cavea Trio - The international fiddlestick ensemble comes from Switzerland and is dedicated to interpretation of old, mostly baroque music. The members are: Norwegian violinist Susanne Saksenvik and Slovaks living in Zürich - Lukáš Kmiť (viola) and Kristína Chalmovská (cello). The trio plays on replicas of historical instruments and for achieving the most precise period sound uses the original strings from intestines. CONCERT: Piotr Wyleżoł (PL) - Polish pianist and composer belongs among the best jazz players. In cooperation with prominent groupings such as Nigel Kennedy, Janusz Muniak, Jarek Smietana and others; visitors can await the work of Piotr Wyleżoł - Improludes, which was released on the album with the same name, where the artist presents his own eight compositions inspired by classical piano compositions by Franz Liszt and full of personal jazz expression at the same time. Prešov

EXHIBITION: Vyšívané dekorácie/ Embroidered decorations - Visitors will have the possibility to see colourful embroidered decorations on a sacking cloth called juta made by 88-year-old woman Marta Studená. The exhibition offers the chance to see handicrafts, art and patterns on the 50 pieces of wall decorations accompanied by demonstrations of self-growth plants.
