FESTIVAL: Concerts in Červený Kameň Castle - The 12th year of the Czech festival, “Hrady CZ” brings a Slovak version of the festival. Slovenské hrady/ Slovak Castles has prepared music from the Slovak pop-rock scene for its visitors. The festival atmosphere will be completed by gastronomy, tea-rooms or free castle tours. CRAFTS/FAIR: Festival of Clay – Ceramic Modra 2016 (Slávnosť hliny - Keramická Modra 2016) – The festival of pottery and ceramics in its eighth year, again shows all forms of this traditional Slovak craft, while also offering the chance to buy examples of these artworks. Enjoy the accompanying programme and exhibitions, try your hand in the workshops, participate in stylised parade and dance at a folk ball. Runs: Sep 9-10; streets of Modra, mostly Súkennícka. FAIR: Radvanský jarmok/ Radvaň Fair – Also called the fair of all fairs. The program includes folk crafts, music, theatre and dance performances, workshops and lots of other activities. FILM FESTIVAL: Hory a Mesto Žilina 2016 / Mountains and City – This is the fourth festival of mountain films and adventure that will bring a host of movies, lectures, presentations and accompanying events. EXHIBITION: Small in Big – Slovak artist Dorota Sadovská works with motifs quite rare in the national painting of the last decades, such as realistic nude studies, monumental portraiture and Christian iconography. BALLET: The Story of Doctor Doolittle for children – Adventure, dance, fairy tale in three acts based on the story by British novelist Hugh Lofting – Doctor Doolittle.
