MULTIMEDIA FESTIVAL: Postmutart: Zvukoobraz/gestotext – The Postmutart Hevhetia Fest festival (with the subtitle Sound-Image/Gesture-Text) in its 6th year offers , on October 9, 13 and 14, European and global artists/performers with progressive, often bizarre forms of contemporary inter-media art, as well as a colloquium of “comprovising with music and art”. On Thursday, Cluster Ensemble will perform Philip Glass, conservatory students will dance and VJ Jakub Pisek will bring a video-screening. On Friday, David KOLLAR on electric guitar & TJ VJUGA on piano and other instruments perform improvised music, and Ivan Buffa on piano & Ján Bogdan on cello will play the works of contemporary composers celebrating anniversaries: Bokes (70), Janárčeková (75), Parík (80) and Boulez (90). CLASSICAL MUSIC CYCLE: Gallery of Music / Galéria hudby – The cycle of chamber concerts aims at presenting more deeply the classical music of all historical periods, until the modern times. The 11th year brings, among other concerts, also the renowned Berlin Piano Quartet playing the works of W. A. Mozart, A. Schnittke, R. CLASSICAL MUSIC: J.S. Bach – St. John Passion (German: Johannes-Passion), BWV 245 – The International Choral Academy Lübeck perform for the first time in Slovakia, thanks to cooperation with the domestic ensemble Solamente Naturali. The founder and conductor of the Academy, Rolf Beck, chose Slovak soloists who cooperate with it (Patrik Horňák, Tereza Maličkayová, Lucia Duchoňová, Matúš Šimko, Tomáš Šelc as well as Yannic Debus Bartłomiej Kłos. The oratorical work was premiered on Easter Friday 1724 in Lepzig. In Trnava, this work was only performed once in the modern era, and so this is just its second interpretation in the city. EXHIBITION: Newrope – This exhibition, closely connected with the Divadelná Nitra theatre festival, explores the phenomenon of contemporary Europe, the European Union, the Slovak presidency within the Council of the EU, as well as the role of art and artists in the contemporary world, in everyday life and social engagement. Genres of works, mostly created specifically for this exhibition, vary from drawings, through to videos, site-specific installation and objects, to intervention in public space.
