Snowy winter forecasts mean excellent skiing conditions around the country.

IMPATIENT SKIIERS who have been waiting more than a month for winter to arrive have finally gotten their wish. The snow at Lomnické Sedlo in the High Tatras is almost 2 metres deep, making it the location with the best skiing conditions. And the latest weather forecasts indicate that the winter weather should continue until at least mid February, which means high prospects that the snow in the mountains will only increase.
Early February will be a time of great winter events at ski resorts. Between February 2 and 4, Donovaly will host dogsled racing, which has become popular here. In Vrátna, skiers can enjoy a Snow Show on February 3 and try snow scooters or the new F2 ski model.
For the more courageous, I recommend the avalanche lecture at Slovakia's best winter resort, Jasná, between February 2 and 4. Local freeride zone experts will acquaint the attendants with how to evaluate the danger of an avalanche and basic first aid skills. With more snow falling, we can look forward to a lot of nice events. Most ski resorts are resuming night skiing. Off to the mountains!
