More than two years after his death, the late famous Slovak actor and comedian Milan Lasica has surprised his family, friends and fans with a new song.
Lasica died during a concert in July 2021.
The new release “List Do Vetra” (A Letter In The Wind) is originally a 1972 poem written by Slovak poet Miroslav Válek. Lasica turned it into a song. It will appear on a new album, “Básnenie” (Poetry), alongside ten other poems written by Slovak poets.
“Departure is a shy bird, frightened by the waves, departure is a meeting at the other end of life, departure is only rain,” Lasica sings. “Thank you for the love. I had too much of it. Man is for everyone and is for no one,” he continues.
The news about the song came out on November 1, which is All Saints’ Day, when the world was expecting to hear the new and final Beatles song, “Now and Then”.
Lasica recorded the new album two months before his death. However, nobody had known about the album up until now.
“The entire recording was strictly secret - even Lasica’s family learned about it after his death,” said Marek Kučera, author of Lasica’s latest and last project.
The video features some of Lasica’s friends and family who get emotional as they watch Lasica sing on the screen for the last time.
The album will be released next year.
