Natural and cultural heritage in cartoons

ALMOST 70 cartoonists from 22 countries participated in an international competition entitled Protection of Nature and Cultural Heritage in Cartoons, organised by the Jozef Kollár Gallery in the central Slovak town of Banská Štiavnica.

An international jury awarded first prize in the category of environment protection to Israeli Yuri Ochakovský, while second place went to Slovak Peter Homola and third to Hungarian László Jelenszký. In the category of cultural heritage protection, Slovak Peter Skala won, followed by the Cyprian Huseyin Cakmak and the Turkish Gural Suroglu.

Altogether, 300 cartoons will be exhibited at the Banská Bystrica gallery on Námestie Svätej Trojice 8 until October 13. The gallery is open daily in September from 7:30 to 16:00 and Mon-Fri in October from 6:30 to 15:00. Tel: 045/6913-431.
