ČERVENÝ Kameň castle, hidden in the Small Carpathian mountains near the wine town of Modra, tells of the lives of its nobility, the power of their weapons, and the content of their cellars. These stories are brought to life, especially during the summer months, through various cultural and social events.
Fencers and falconers arrive annually to put on their shows. Monthly antique auctions traditionally take place at the castle. The beginning of June saw Children's Days at the castle.
With the summer season advancing, the castle introduces a new happening: Castle Evenings, with night shows under the subtitle, Visit of the Castle Lords.
Although performances are in Slovak or Czech, foreign visitors will certainly appreciate the visual aspects of the presentations.
Every Saturday until September 3, starting at 20:00, the Červený Kameň courtyard will be the venue for a theatre, music or fencing show.

On Saturday July 16, the Divadlo troupe from the Czech town of Brno arrive with a play entitled The Famous Also Fought. On Saturday July 23, a jazz concert by the 3+1 band will be delivered.
As the "live Saturdays" continue, visitors will have the opportunity to see all four floors of the unique renaissance bastion system, built according to plans from the famous German artist, Albrecht Dürer.
Peter the Hermit, who used to work at the chapel on the meadow in front of the castle, will accompany you through the courtyard. Dressed in monk's cowl, you cannot miss him.
At 21:00, as night falls, visitors to the Saturday performances can set out on a fascinating tour, which runs as part of Castle Evenings throughout September. More tours follow in half-hour intervals until midnight.
During the castle tour, visitors can learn about the faithful marriage of Mikuláš Pálffy and Mária Fuggerová. They will meet Count Rudolf Pálffy who will take pride in showing them his large collections gathered over his lifetime.
The castle's nobility will ceremoniously greet visitors in the large Pálffy dining room, where a small surprise awaits them.
