JESHUA Meshiacha is an exhibition project from a Trnava team of authors known as GloriaDei, consisting of Peter Čambál, Sr. and his son Peter Čambál, Jr. Their latest project, which is being exhibited in the Synagogue – the Centre for Contemporary Art in Trnava until March 22, delves into the interrelationships between Christian and Jewish culture.
The central motif of the exhibition is a cross, accompanied by eight panels recalling altars and pulpits in both synagogues and Christian churches. On each of the pulpits the texts of prophets, evangelists and Jesus Christ – all of them men of Jewish origin – are displayed.
The exhibition is an interactive space which draws the viewer into a sacred atmosphere, allowing one to actively and personally discover the message about unity, symbiosis, harmony and beauty.
The exhibit presents a symbiotic representation of the cultures and values of Judaism and Christianity in one temple, which at the same time is a contemporary ‘temple of art’.
