Online voting for Pandas

AFTER the short animated film Pandy (Pandas) by Slovak director Matúš Vizár garnered success at last year’s International Film Festival in Cannes, where it placed third in the student film competition, Cinéfondation, it may prove successful in another contest: the Viewster Online Film competition.

AFTER the short animated film Pandy (Pandas) by Slovak director Matúš Vizár garnered success at last year’s International Film Festival in Cannes, where it placed third in the student film competition, Cinéfondation, it may prove successful in another contest: the Viewster Online Film competition.

All of the entries share a dark sense of humour, with the theme for 2014 being “When Life Offers You Lemons…” Films can be selected for the shortlist via the internet, where fans can vote for their favourite at www.viewster.com/festival-details/1251-17084-000/pandas until March 28.

The jury will consist of film producer Ted Hope, director Timo Vuorensola and actress Nora Tschirner, according to Peter Gašparík of Slovenský Film.

Pandas, a Slovak-Czech co-production, can now be seen for free online. It is the only film to represent the Czech Republic or Slovakia at the festival, out of a total of 84 works.
