SOPRANO singer, opera soloist, and pedagogue Mária Kišonová-Hubová died on August 11 at the age of 89.
A guest to many home and European stages, Kišonová-Hubová performed in operettas and operas, including Puccini's La Bohéme, Dvořák's Rusalka, Mozart's Don Giovanni, and Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
The wife of actor Mikuláš Huba and mother of actor Martin Huba, she was awarded the national artist title in 1968.
