Ceramics 3 - Burnt Idyll is a rare display of traditional ceramics organized jointly by the Slovak National Museum in Martin, the Ethnographical Museum at Schloss Kitsee (just over the border from Bratislava in Austria) and the Szombathélyi Savaria Museum in Hungary.
The exhibition at the museum in Martin runs until March 28. The collections on show come from three ceramic producing centres - Modra (Slovakia), Stoob (Austria) and Magyarszobatfy (Hungary).
Making the exhibition even more special are the demonstrations of the manufacture and decoration of the pottery.
There are also workshops running at the museum in Martin, in which children and adults can try their hand at making their own ceramics, helped by professional potters. Working with clay on a pottery wheel is just one example.
