Last year, Tolstoys made history as the first Slovak band to perform at the prestigious Glastonbury Festival. This year, they are set to return, playing four shows, including a special collaboration with South Korean group Via Trio, reports Sme daily.

Glastonbury will take place from June 25 to 29.

“It was an amazing experience. The festival itself was beyond anything we had imagined, and we didn’t expect to be invited,” said band leader Ela Tolstová in an interview with Sme in early May. “We were proud to be the first Slovak band to perform there. It felt like new doors were opening for the Czech-Slovak music scene.”

She added that international audiences were receptive to their sound. “I sang a Slovak folk song at Glastonbury, and for the audience, it felt exotic – something fresh they hadn’t heard in England before.”

Tolstoys return to the UK off the back of their new album, The Buzz, which was largely inspired by last year’s Glastonbury experience. Many of the songs were developed during backstage moments, sound checks, and while on tour, gradually taking shape in live performances.

Alongside Glastonbury, the band will appear at Slovakia’s Pohoda and Atmosféra festivals. Their tour this year will also include stops in the UK, Germany, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
