THE FOREIGN and Commonwealth Office in London is organising and financing an international festival of films from European Union candidate countries in London, whose aim is to fight British ignorance about EU enlargement.
The idea was born after the publication of a recent study, which revealed that three in four Brits cannot name a single country that could became a new EU member in 2004.
The event, entitled New Europe Film Festival, takes place from September 19 to 26 and intends to screen movies from 12 candidate countries.
Slovakia will be represented in London by Martin Šulík's film Everything I Like on September 25.
