TOP Slovak climbers met for a bouldering contest in Bratislava on March 11 with climbers from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria and the US. Altogether 81 participants competed on the boulder walls at the Petržalka Boulderoom gym, which celebrated its first year anniversary.
Promising Hungarian junior, Bálint Kámvas, and Slovak climber, Zuzana Čintalová, won the qualification round.
Čintalová, from the nearby town of Modra, confirmed the results from qualifications also in the finals, when she topped two routes on the first try. Czech Tereza Čermáková finished second and her club mate Silvie Rajfová ended third. Juraj Repáň from Žilina won the men's finals, followed by Czech Jiří Přibil and Hungarian Csaba Komondi.
Czech Tereza Čermáková and Hungarian Bálint Kámvas were the best junior competitors.
"We are pleased that despite the tough competition, the winners [in the finals] were Slovaks. On the other hand, all those who finished at top places are great inspiration for us," said Zdenka Bírová from the Bratislava's Boulderoom.
